Democrats and other leftists long have claimed that foreigners falsely claiming to be U.S. citizens and registering to vote simply never happens.
Now an arrest has been made in California for that very crime.
Fox News explained a prosecutor has confirmed the case, and revealed it is the first arrest in a “broader election fraud crackdown.”
It is Bill Essayli, first assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, who confirmed a Honduran national is facing two felonies and could be deported if convicted.
He said, “Today’s arrest is the first of many to come. Unfortunately, because states like California allow non-citizens to easily register to vote and receive a ballot by mail, there’s no telling how many non-citizens are currently registered to vote.”
The suspect is Darwin Jonathan Rivera Flores.

He continued, “We again renew our request that California immediately comply with our requests to audit their voter rolls so that all voters can have confidence in our elections.”
Flores was charged with fraudulent voter registration and falsely claiming U.S. citizenship, the report said.
He apparently did not vote in an election.
“Despite the media and Democrats claiming it never happens, the evidence of noncitizens registering to vote in our elections continues to pile up,” explained Lauren Bis, a spokeswoman for the White House. “Any non-citizens found registering to vote and voting in our elections will be held accountable. Only Americans should be electing American leaders.”
The DOJ has insisted that California allow a comprehensive voter roll audit as sought by Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon.
She said, “Let this criminal complaint serve as a reminder that the Justice Department stands ready to enforce the laws Congress enacted to ensure only American citizens vote in federal elections.”
